LASVIT provided glass art lighting installations for the Majestic Princess, one of the 20 largest cruise ships in the world. This magnificent vessel embodies 330 meters and 19 decks of luxury at sea. The core atrium garnered special attention, a centrepiece that visually connects the heart of the ship with its surrounding sea.
“The design is inspired by a foamy ocean wave and by the pure visual relation between the ship and its environment. It’s reminiscent of sunny holidays on the beach, where each wave brings joy and excitement. It’s a pleasant, positive wave with a sense of comfort and security, something strongly associated with Princess Cruises,” explains LASVIT designer Jana Ruzickova.
A four-meter wave of crystal elements, mounted on a polished stainless steel decorative frame welcomes voyagers with delicate tones of blue and clear crystal reflection. The piece is composed of countless hand-blown glass organic shapes with natural surface textures in clear, light and dark cobalt blue, carrying the essence of reflected water.
Leon Jakimic, LASVIT´s Founder and President, adds “We build on the clear visual similarity between glass and water – organic shapes, bubbles, transparency and fluidity. Glass art and lighting sculptures are subtle reminders of the magnificence of the surrounding natural environment, even as you enter the interior of the vessel. Our contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship add an authentic touch of luxury to the experience.”
