Spotlight on London: Lasvit Presents Special Gold Edition of Herbarium
At this year's London Design Festival, Lasvit is set to shine at a prestigious address in Mayfair. As part of the enchanting "Crafted Wonder" exhibition at Sketch — a renowned 3-star Michelin destination for food, art, and music — Lasvit unveils a unique gold edition of its Herbarium glass and light installation.
From 15 September to 16 October 2023, Sketch, known for its avant-garde, art-infused interiors and culinary marvels, will host this exhibition in collaboration with La Manufacture Cogolin, Julian Carter Design, and us, Lasvit. Titled "Crafted Wonder," the showcase features handcrafted designs that blur the boundaries between art, design, and experience. Lasvit is proud to showcase its signature Herbarium ICON in an exclusive gold edition, specially tailored for The Glade restaurant. Herbarium tells a story of glassmaking capturing the ever-changing essence of nature. Molten glass is poured over a formation of dried flowers. The heat of the glass consummates the plants, imprinting them in the crystal for eternity. This craftsmanship is not merely a testament to unparalleled glassmaking skill, but also an evocation of nature's intricate splendor. In this special display for the London Design Festival, each floral imprint is gilded, drawing visitors into a dreamlike realm where innovation melds with nature Choosing The Glade as the backdrop for the Herbarium is no happenstance. Known for its lunch garden menu and evening cocktails, The Glade radiates a magical, forest-inspired ambiance. Custom-printed floral fabrics, butterfly motifs on Louis XV-style chairs, and round mirrored tabletops further enhance this natural theme. Maria Culenová, Chief Designer at Lasvit, remarked, "Our workshops are surrounded by wilderness. We wanted to capture a piece of this scenery, a piece of the Bohemian meadow, and transpose it to sketch. The Glade, with its otherwordly, blossol-like feel, is the perfect place for it." In celebration, Sketch will also offer bespoke cocktails, inspired by the showcased designs, available - from 15 September to 16 October. The Crafted Wonder exhibit will be open to the public from Friday 16 September to Monday 16 October.
