We are the champions once again. The Yakisugi vases and glasses had “the best representation of earth tones” – that is what the judges who granted the award of one of the most influential design magazines in the world said. After their huge success in Milan, LASVIT has won another prize.
The glassware, designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, was picked by the jury as representing the best designs of the previous year and was put into a category with other prestigious companies, such as Mooi or Henge.
“I have always believed that our lighting and glassware can inspire the world and become world ambassadors for Czech craftsmanship,” said the president and founder of LASVIT, Mr. Leon Jakimič.
The winners of the Wallpaper* Design Awards are announced annually in the February issue of the magazine. The selection honors and celebrates the world’s most exciting and life-enhancing products, places, creations and innovations. The awards, now in their 15th year and running, are awarded by world-renowned architects and designers together with a panel of celebrities. Previous judges have for example included Academy Award-winning actor Eddie Redmayne or Victoria Beckham.
