Inspired by the vibrant marine ecosystem of Phu Quoc, Charming Deeps transform the Regent Hotel lobby into a gateway to the island’s underwater world, celebrating the pristine nature that surrounds it. Hand-blown crystal glass elements echo the textures and forms of underwater life, creating an installation that feels both organic and otherworldly.
Glass as Living Coral
The artwork unites varied techniques – from vivid hand-blown crystal to borosilicate rods melted into coral-like forms. Silvering, sandblasting, and lacquer enrich the details, while slumped glass adds depth, capturing the shifting vitality of a reef under changing light.
A Tribute to Nature and Community
Charming Deeps was conceived as a homage to Phu Quoc’s natural wealth and the quiet strength of its protectors. Rippling light and glowing pigments create a vivid reminder of the sea’s fragile beauty and the enduring connection between people and nature.
