Golden Breeze

Golden Breeze

In the interior of the neoclassicist Palazzo Versace hotel, virtually everything bears the signature of a Versace-design house. Whether you wander about the hallways resembling a 16th century Italian palace or strolling through patios and inner gardens.

Based on a classic Versace floral pattern, the 3000 kilogram body of Golden Breeze lighting installation is placed prominently above the central floor mosaic. Thanks to a lightened glass bar composition, it gives the impression of being moved by a summer breeze sweeping through the lobby.

The story behind the light

Composed of amber-tone and crystal clear elements, the subtle elegance of this lighting sculpture supplements a surprisingly restrained lobby design, welcoming guests to a rich and unforgettable space.

Installation consists of glass bars arranged to finely refract the light. They aren’t cut but blown straight into a structured form, hot-drawn and twisted. Shapes repeat, multiply.

Drawn glass bars, resembling golden spikes flying in the wind.

Light in space

Massive and yet unbelievably airy Golden Breeze composition catches the eye right upon entering the giant vestibule of the luxurious Palazzo Versace hotel. Like the corn spikes waving in the wind, like sandstorm clouds. As if the wavy snake hair of the mythical Medusa looking up to the light from the floor mosaic reflected all the way at the top.

I search for inspiration in nature and its morphology. My work has an abstract form which opens space for imagination, and functions as a window into our interior, into our subcounscious.
