Crystal Dougong
Beijing’s gem among luxury locations, the Reignwood Pine Valley Golf Club & Resort features a fusion of traditional Chinese sensibility with modern design. Among its most notable features are the lighting fixtures by Lasvit.
Concept
The inspiration came from dougong, perhaps the most distinctive feature of traditional Chinese architecture. The resulting lighting sculpture is composed of flat clear and red-colored glass rectangles, which are processed to create a soda-bubble effect that adds an organic feel and softens their individual translucency. Composed into an intricate structure using stainless steel wires and lit by LED down-lights, the sculpture is clearly technical, but its overall impression is light, open and fresh.
