Closer to the Stars
When you sit on a plane and look out the window, there is that magical moment of gazing into the night sky. Suddenly, the stars feel closer than ever. That simple act became the seed for this installation in the Singapore Airlines Business Lounge – capturing our timeless human urge to fly and reach beyond what once felt impossible.
Guiding Travelers
When entering the Singapore Airlines Business Lounge, visitors are welcomed by a constellation unfolding above them. Mirroring the feeling of cruising altitude through its soft, ambient light, the installation creates an atmosphere that offers travellers a quiet space to pause and dream – reminding us that flying is not only movement, but human aspiration and connection.
Crafted Constellation
Handcrafted in Northern Bohemia, the installation required more than 800 hours of design, glassmaking, engineering, and lighting programming. Each handblown glass star was paired with precision stainless steel tubes with integrated light, allowing the installation to shimmer upward, creating a sense of lift – like the moment a plane leaves the ground, echoing our instinct to rise, grow, and move closer to the sky.
