The story behind the light
The wish of the client was to take a piece of jungle and transform it into a glass. “I encountered things I hadn´t before; the fruit I have never tasted or shapes and colours I have never seen,” the designer Štěpán Gudev says about the task.
“The island is abundant with guava, star fruit, jack fruit, rambutan, as well as the more familiar mango, pineapple, watermelons and citruses,” the designer explains “Their diverse shapes, colours and flavours provide both inspiration and symbolic meanings of abundance and the endless creativity of nature.”
Nature’s rich palette was translated into abstract elements made from coloured hand-blown glass and fine crystal trimmings.
Fruits of Temptation employs a combination of external LED reflectors and LED downlights that are both eco-friendly and eye-friendly.
Feel the Jungle
Fruits of Temptation lighting sculpture is a fine example of contemporary design that both respects the local aesthetic and draws inspiration from it.
