Quick Bio

Wanda Valihrachová is a dynamic soul who combines her zeal for new technologies with her passion for energetic ways of expression. Her chief interest lies in interactive installations which incite emotions by using elemental, biomorphic shapes, progressive glass-shaping techniques, and show irreverence for traditionally rigid and symmetrical schemes. Her recent artistic discoveries include the combining of glass installation and sculpture, extraordinary clusters of neon tubes, video-mapping, or any techniques which go beyond the limits of traditional glass-working technology and its usual uses. She studied Industrial design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, and Product & Graphic Design at the École supérieure d´art et design in Saint-Étienne, France. She joined Lasvit in 2014, and has since worked at several different Lasvit offices around the world, such as in Hong Kong, Dubai, London, Paris, or New York.
